A native of Nashville, Tennessee, Davey Rockit grew up in the teeming community of musicians and songwriters in the “Music City”. As a boy he started experimenting with playing drums, piano and guitar. At age 14 he started DJing and scratching. By age 16 he had 3 weekly DJ gigs, which afforded him ample time to come up with his unique style. Eventually, Davey moved to Los Angeles, which opened a number of musical doors. In the 2 plus years he’s been in the City of Angels, he’s embraced a more dance-based sound, specifically new-school Electro House (i.e. Justice, Fake Blood, Diplo), and Classic Disco (i.e. Rolls Royce, Blackbirds, KC and the Sunshine Band). These types of music continue to inform his DJ sets.
