Leonardo is a bright colourful surfer with a true European heritage.  He rode his first wave surfed aged just 6 in Anglet, on the Cote Basque in France.  Since then he has only had one desire, to become a pro surfer.  He wants to enjoy the travelling the world and surfing as much as possible.  He has already travelled extensively with his family, friends and as part of the Quiksilver team around the globe.  His favourite trips include Maldives in 2006 and Hawaii in 2008.   

His family strongly support his dreams and help him chase surf and contests across Europe.  Knowing that coming from a relatively underdeveloped surf scene of Italy, means competing with other Europeans on their own beaches is the only wave to improve.  

Like a true Italian, young Leo loves his pasta and his football, but perhaps his own words describe him best.  He says, ‘I'm a creative and hyperactive kid, I love surfing with my brother and with my friends.  I'm generous and nice with the others. I prefer to be honest and recognize my mistakes, as I can always learn for the future. I love girls like a typical Italian and I have always a big smile on my face!'
